Description
The FibroPool Above Ground Pool Deck Ladder is a 4-step stainless steel ladder that mounts through your deck and into your above-ground pool. Each rail is a single piece of stainless tubing that runs all the way from the bottom step (resting on the floor of the pool) up through the deck, where it bends over into the handrail at the top. It comes in two top-rail shapes: U-Shaped and Standard.
This is a deck-mounted ladder rather than a freestanding A-frame, so it's built for above-ground pools that already have a raised deck around them. As long as your deck top sits roughly level with the top of your pool wall (most pool walls are 48 to 54 inches tall), the rails drop straight through the deck and into the pool. If your pool doesn't have a deck around it, a freestanding A-frame ladder is what you want instead.
How it installs
The ladder ships with two through-deck mounting brackets, one for each rail. Each bracket bolts down to the top of your deck with the included hardware. In the center of each bracket is a hole that lines up with a hole you drill through the deck at install time. The rails then slide down through the brackets and through the deck, continuing into the pool until the plastic bottom step settles on the pool floor. A set screw on each bracket clamps the rail in place at that height.
The result is a ladder anchored solid through the deck instead of sitting on top of it, with the bottom step weighted on the pool floor for a stable bottom end.
Two top-rail shapes
The ladder is the same in either version. The only difference is the bend in the tubing at the top, above the deck.
U-Shaped. Each rail runs straight up out of the deck and curves back down in a tight U at the top, sitting directly above the mounting bracket. It's a compact shape that keeps the rails close to the pool edge, which works well when deck space is tight or when you want a low-profile look.
Standard. Each rail tilts back away from the pool at the top before it curves over. Some brands call this shape reverse-bend. The backward tilt gives you more room to climb in and out without ducking under the rails, and it gives the ladder a more classic look at the deck.
Build
- Single-piece stainless steel tubing for each rail, running from the pool floor up to the top of the handrail with no joints in between
- Stainless construction built to hold up to sun, pool chemicals, and cold winters
- Four wide steps with a non-slip top across every step
- Plastic bottom step (with FibroPool branding) that rests on the floor of the pool for a planted footing
- Two through-deck mounting brackets with bolt-down flanges and a set screw on each
- Mounting hardware included; brackets work with wood and composite decks
- Fits most above-ground pools with walls 48 to 54 inches tall, when paired with a standard raised deck
Is this the right ladder for your setup?
Pick this ladder if:
- You have an above-ground pool with a deck around it (full deck, or a partial / fan deck)
- You're willing to drill two holes through your deck to mount the rails (one per rail)
- Your deck top sits about level with the top of your pool wall
This ladder isn't right if:
- You don't have a deck around your pool. You'll want a freestanding A-frame above-ground pool ladder instead.
- You have an in-ground pool. You'll want an in-ground pool ladder that drops into anchors set in the pool deck.
- You can't or don't want to drill into your deck. The brackets and rails both need a hole through the deck surface.
- Your deck sits well below the top of your pool wall. Measure first, since this ladder isn't sized for non-standard setups.
What's in the box
- Stainless steel ladder body (two single-piece rails plus 4 steps, partly assembled)
- Two through-deck mounting brackets with set screws
