Frequently Asked Questions

With proper sizing, you can typically expect a heat pump to keep your pools water around 15 degrees above the ambient air temperature.

FibroPool heat pumps will work best with outside temperatures of 60 degrees or above. As the temperature gets lower, the efficiency and performance of the unit will be reduced.

The internal flow sensor on our units requires at least 25 gallons per minute to keep the unit on. For most pool setups this will require a circulating pump with around 1/3 horsepower.

All FibroPool heat pumps are compatible with both fresh and saltwater pools. During installation, make sure your heat pump is installed upstream of your salt cell or inline chlorinator with a check valve installed between them to prevent any backflow into the unit.

    It's doing it's job!

8500 - 9k gal pool. Pump rated for 7500 gal. Took 2 days to go from 66F to 77F. Both days were 75 degree sunny days. The pool temp may reach 79 F on the second day. The heat pump and my pool are exposed to the sun all day in my yard if the sun is out and no clouds. I guess that's an advantage I have. Overnight it seems to hold the pool temp. I have no solar cover. My pool usually doesn't reach 82F until late June without a heater, I am almost there in middle of May. My pool opened beginning of May. I believe the pump will also cool down the water if it gets to warm, that's a wait and see.

The wifi feature is nice with the Smart Home app and it's easy to set up. You can do basic things like set your temp, change the heater mode and add timers.

It took our plumber\electrician 6 hours to connect. I needed additional plumbing lines to tap into existing plumbing. He was scratching his head with the electrical connection requirements, but he figured it out. There are no knockouts for the electrical wires and the pump didn't ship with a bonding lug. Fibro pool shipped one out for me at no charge.

The pump is not loud, but it's noticeable when on boost mode or auto. There is a silent heat mode the quiets it down, but not sure if it's effective at heating the pool on this mode, haven't tried yet. Still learning the nuisances.

I'd recommend getting this pump, just be patient with it to heat your pool.
